<p>This interactive version of Ludwig Wittegnstein’s philosophical work is built around a subway-style map with the aim of making it easier to navigate the sequences of statements laid out in the book. This is the first Tractatus website to provide a map of the book’s overall structure, and the only one that provides parallel access to the earlier versions of the text in the Prototractatus.</p>

The Iowa Archives of the Avant-garde (IAAG) comprises several major collections representing key movements in twentieth-century art and literature.

<p>Dividing the City documents the scope, timing, and geography of private racial restrictions on property in St. Louis and St. Louis County. Derived from Asha Bhandary’s care-based liberalism developed in Freedom to Care, and developed in collaboration with UI philosophy graduate students, the game can be used for educational purposes to prompt discussions about the role of care in systems of social cooperation. While they are navigating space dust and time-warp technology, users should also consider how gender and race shape our intuitions about who should act as a caregiver, who expects that their needs will be met, and how these assumptions influence the domain of freedom.</p>

At the edge of textuality, what do we find? What makes text? The Gibberish Project is about exploring the boundaries of what makes text what it is.
<p>Nine Pivots is an essay focused on works held within the University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art and Special Collections. It has been composed as a constellation rather than a narrative, deploying practices of cross-mapping as opposed to a singular and focused mode of academic specialization. I’ve borrowed this approach from Alexander Kluge, who describes cross-mapping as “the application of mutually contradictory maps, methods, or theories” and I’m using it here to indicate the breadth of these collections. It is also an attempt to acknowledge my curiosities and limitations as a researcher. Overall, I have tried to bring a range of traditions into proximity so that questions of responsiveness, communicability, wonder, violence, and care can resonate against and complicate one another. This particular cluster of associations and instigations seeks to enjoin a parallel process in readers and viewers. These are places from which to begin.</p>

It has been composed as a constellation rather than a narrative, deploying practices of cross-mapping as opposed to a singular and focused mode of academic specialization. I’ve borrowed this approach from Alexander Kluge, who describes cross-mapping as “the application of mutually contradictory maps, methods, or theories” and I’m using it here to indicate the breadth of these collections. It is also an attempt to acknowledge my curiosities and limitations as a researcher. Overall, I have tried to bring a range of traditions into proximity so that questions of responsiveness, communicability, wonder, violence, and care can resonate against and complicate one another. This particular cluster of associations and instigations seeks to enjoin a parallel process in readers and viewers. These are places from which to begin.

<p>This digital archive encompasses the oral histories from coffee pickers, farmers, hacendados (owners of vast farming land), women and teens from the mountainous western area of Puerto Rico known as the coffee zone. This archive is the first to record and preserve the coffee zone’s dialect and oral histories. The collection also include the ways in which women in the coffee industry have handled the micro-changes in their community, and how these changes have played a role in the preservation, and sometimes annihilation, of the coffee zone’s dialect.</p>
