Note from co-curator Lisa Gardinier:

The International Writing Program has been a part of the cultural and social fabric of Iowa City for decades. The sheer number of readings that happen around town are part of the character of our town as a UNESCO City of Literature. Maybe by now our eyes don’t even see the flyers hanging around downtown for the next reading at Prairie Lights, but they’re there, as much a part of Iowa City as football games at Kinnick or pie shakes at the Hamburg Inn.
