Faculty and Staff Vertical Files. Over 20,000 current and former administrators, faculty, and staff are represented in this collection. Files contain newspaper clippings, academic vitae, obituaries and other material. RG 01.0015.001.

Presidential Gallery. Prepared by Archives staff and maintained by the University of Iowa Alumni Association, this website features portraits and brief biographies of past University of Iowa presidents.

Presidential Papers. The official correspondence files of former University presidents are maintained in collections under each president’s name. They form part of Record Group 5 and are indexed by topic, department, college and correspondent from 1916 to 1976. To research the Presidential Papers, first consult the annual bound indexes at the Archives. After identifying the desired file number, go to the online folder list for the appropriate Presidential Papers collection to determine the box number in which the file is located. Archives staff can assist you in the use of these collections.

Presidents of the University of Iowa. A chronological list which includes information about acting presidents who served during interim periods between administrations.

Publications. University-produced publications often include references to past presidents as well as the current administration. Titles of over 200 such publications may be searched in the University Serials and Journals Collection (RG 01.0009.002).
