For Students: How to Access
Check the Library Catalog (InfoHawk+) to see if your textbook is listed. Searches can be done by course title/number, instructor’s name, or book title.
Can find your book? Check ICON to access the reserve readings for your course.
For Instructors: Place Materials on Reserve
Place materials on reserve by filling out the the form below or emailing Lichtenberger Engineering Library (lib-engineering@uiowa.edu).
- The standard loan time is 2 hours. Instructors may request an extended loan period of 1 or 3 days.
- At an Instructor’s request, materials can be restricted to use only within the library.
- Submit materials early! During busy periods, reservations can take several days to process.
- If the library needs to order materials, they may require 4 to 6 weeks to arrive.
Note: The library can put personal copies on reserve but they may be damaged due to heavy use, occasionally stolen, or may not be returned by a borrower. The Libraries cannot replace missing or damaged personal materials.
Online Journal Articles/Electronic Books
- Instructors can place print materials and media on course reserve for use by students. E-reserves (online video, PDFs or links to e-articles) are made available to students through ICON.
