Parking for the Hardin Library

There are a few options for visitors to Hardin Library:

Short-term parking is available in Lot 30 on the north side of the library. Pay for parking with the ParkMobile mobile app, which requires a credit/debit card and smartphone (Lot 30 is ParkMobile zone 5105). Parking up to four hours allowed. Other payment options appear on the ParkMobile signs in the parking lot.
30-minute free parking available in one space. Push the button on the meter for 30 minutes of free parking.
Visitors may also use the Newton Road Ramp to the northeast of the library (discounts available after 9 a.m.).
Additional parking may be found in the parking ramps at the University Hospitals and the visitors lot at the College of Dentistry.
Free parking available in Lot 42 after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends.
Free parking available in the Dental Lot on weekends

You have several options for parking near the library:

Purchase a Night & Weekend parking permit. This will give you access (from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. weekdays and all weekend long) to the Newton Road Ramp and any other UI-cashiered parking facility without paying an hourly charge.
Obtain a night permit decal for your car. It’s free and will enable you to pay student hourly rates at select cashiered facilities (including the Newton Road Ramp) from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. weekdays and all weekend long. Be aware that entering before 4:30 p.m. or leaving after 8:30 a.m. invalidates the rate reduction. See Parking and Transportation Night and Weekend Privileges.
