Along with many other organizations in Iowa, conservation efforts continue today locally through the 100Grannies for a Livable Future organization in Iowa City. Their mission is “to educate, advocate and agitate for renewable energy, pure water, clean air and a healthy environment for future generations”.
Active since 2012, the Grannies advocate for their goals by being active in local events, creating literature and displays for local topics of interest, contacting elected officials, writing letters to the editor, and sponsoring films and speakers.
The Iowa Women’s Archives at the University of Iowa Libraries holds the 100Grannies records.
