From curator Rich Dana:
These are several very different takes on the visual aspects of “Un coup de dés.” This colorful interpretation by French Surrealist André Masson (a major influence on Jackson Pollock) maintains the presence of the actual text while adding bold gestural elements that evoke the beauty of the sea and the chaos of the shipwreck.
