Consultations
The Research Commons is open to consultations year-round. A consultation is scheduled as a 1-hour meeting with a Research Commons staff member to help you address limited-scope activities such as:
• Troubleshooting a minor technical issue
• Providing a basic overview of a software or digital tool
• Discussing strategies for writing a grant or fellowship application
• Recommending campus partners & other resources to provide further support
Project Proposals
Project proposals are evaluated by Research Commons staff for potential collaborative partnership. Selected projects are typically complex, grant-funded, and highly-visible, scoped for approximately six months of coordinated work.
Faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, research centers, and community members are welcome to apply. The number of selected projects will vary based on staff capacity.
New project proposals will be accepted during the following periods:
Spring Proposal Cycle (for Fall Semester Project Execution)
• Project proposals will be accepted from Feb. 15 – March 15, 2027
• If your proposed project is selected, you will be notified in May
• Project Onboarding: June
• Active Project Period: Fall Semester
• Closeout & Next-Phase Planning: Late Fall / Early Winter
Fall Proposal Cycle (for Spring Semester Project Execution)
• Project proposals accepted from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2027
• PIs of selected projects will be notified in December
• Project Onboarding: January
• Active Project Period: Spring Semester
• Closeout & Next-Phase Planning: Late Spring / Early Summer
