Digital Scholarship & Publishing Summer Fellowship Program
Created in 2017, this summer fellowship program provides an opportunity for PhD, DMA, and MFA students to benefit from an in-person, mentored digital scholarship internship experience in the University of Iowa Libraries.
Students are encouraged to develop their own projects and/or pursue the development of digital scholarly skills. Students whose project is related to a thesis or dissertation work may be given priority. The fellowship helps position graduate students to pursue innovative ways of thinking about publishing and sharing their creative endeavors.
For more information about the program, funding, and application process, visit the Graduate College’s Digital Scholarship & Publishing Summer Fellowships page.
Fellowship Award
The Graduate College provides a stipend of $5,500 plus a tuition scholarship for one credit hour and 50 percent of the designated mandatory fees. Students are responsible for the remaining mandatory fees and any course fees.
Fellowship Requirements
• Commitment of 20-hours/week of project work
• In-person participation in a 1-credit summer class
• Fellowships cannot be used in combination with other sources of support (e.g., fellowship/scholarship, grant, graduate assistantships, or employment outside the University of Iowa) since the fellowships are meant to provide protected time for the student to advance their studies
