Article Delivery Service (ADS) is available free of charge to faculty, staff, and students at the University of Iowa, excluding the College of Law. Articles or chapters from nonelectronic journals, newspapers, or books held in any University of Iowa Library (with the exception of the Law Library) can be scanned, delivered electronically, and available for viewing for 14 days. If an article is available through a subscribed ejournal, the link to the article will be provided. Fair use and copyright laws will be applied to each request.
Materials will be delivered in 3-5 days. Microform material over 20 pages in length may require additional time for electronic delivery or will be held at the Service Desk for checkout or use. Articles or book chapters over 50 pages in length may require additional time for electronic delivery or may be processed as book delivery requests and held for pickup at one of the University Libraries (see section below on Book Delivery).
Please submit requests by logging in with your HawkID and password at http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/services/illdd. If you are a first-time user of the system, you must first register after logging in. To ensure faster delivery, please choose the UI Library Location that the item is held at. Please submit one article or chapter title per request.
Delivery of books to another University of Iowa Library is a separate service provided by Circulation. Further information on this service can be located at: http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/circ/deliveryservices.
