Main Library

Building Access

When the Library Collections and the Learning Commons are open the North, South and Madison St. entrances will be unlocked. When the Library Collections is closed and the Learning Commons is open all entrances will be locked and university affiliated users must use their Iowa One cards to enter. When the Library and Learning Commons are closed, all doors will be locked.

Security

All security cameras will be wired to provide video recordings to UI Public Safety. Access to security videos will require a formal request per university surveillance policies.

  • Effective June 2009, the following changes have occurred: Music Library Circulation, course reserves, current periodicals, media (excluding LPs) and RBML staff are now located in Room 2006, Main Library, along with RBML Rare Books, microfilm and LPs.  These changes should remain in place until the School of Music’s new building is completed and ready for occupancy.
